Take your mac & cheese to a whole new level with the simplest & tastiest way to make it. No need to boil the pasta - just cook it all on your smoker.

And believe me, it's probably the cheesiest and most delicious mac & cheese you'll ever try...

What you need 350g macaroni (uncooked)

450g gouda cheese, grated

225g cheddar, grated

225g mozzarella, grated 5 cups (1.25L) milk 2 tsp Smokey Joe's Honey Hog seasoning (or bee sting if you like some heat) 1 Tbsp seeded mustard 1 cup panko crumbs (optional)

2 tablespoons meted butter (optional)

What to do

  1. Heat smoker to 350°F /180°C and set up for indirect cooking.

  2. In a foil tray, dish, or Dutch oven, mix all ingredients except the panko crumbs.

  3. Place the dish in the smoker and cook for 30 minutes. Stir well to ensure everything melts and combines.

  4. Smoke for another 30 minutes until the pasta is soft and the texture is creamy. If needed, cook for an extra 15-30 minutes.

  5. Stir mac and cheese well.

  6. Mix panko crumbs with melted butter, sprinkle over the mac and cheese, and return to the smoker until golden brown.

Remove from smoker and serve hot and bubbly!

For something a little different why not add some crispy fried bacon?
