Smokey Chipotle Hummus

Smokey, spicy, and packed with flavour, this Smokey Chipotle Hummus takes the classic dip to a whole new level. With a hit of heat and citrus from Smokey Joe’s Chipotle & Lime Rub, it’s the perfect balance of creamy, zesty, and smoky. Serve it up with warm pita, crisp veggies, or spread it on a sandwich for an extra kick!
What you need
2 cans chickpeas, drained
½ cup water
¼ cup tahini
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon of Smokey Joe's Chipotle & lime rub
2 cloves garlic
100g roasted red bell peppers,
6 sun-dried tomatoes, drained
½ cup chopped coriander (cilantro)
sea salt, to taste
ground black pepper, to taste
What to do
Place the chickpeas, water, tahini paste, lemon juice, olive oil, Smokey Joe’s Chipotle & Lime Rub, garlic, and cumin into the bowl of a food processor. Blend until smooth.
Add the red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, cilantro, salt, and pepper to the food processor. Pulse until the ingredients are coarsely chopped into the hummus base.
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Spread it around the plate, creating a hollow in the centre.
Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with Chipotle & Lime Rub and black sesame seeds before serving.
Serve with warm Turkish bread and fresh vegetable sticks like carrot, cucumber, celery, or capsicum for a simple and delicious snack or appetizer.
