Chicken wings are more cost effective than other cuts making them ideal for large get-togethers. They are the perfect size for little hands and taste terrific basted in sticky marinade or something more spicy, my Smokey Joe’s Smokey chicken rub add a subtle Smokey flavour with a just hint of heat , perfect to go on weber, bbq or rotisserie
What you need
· 1kg free range Chicken Wings
· 1/4 cup (60ml) maple syrup
· 2 tablespoons Smokey Joe’s Smokey chicken rub
Blue Cheese Sauce
· 150g soft blue cheese
· 1/4 cup (75g) mayonnaise
· 1/4 cup (60ml) buttermilk
· 1/4 cup (60g) sour cream
· 2 tbs finely chopped chives
· 1 tbs finely chopped dill
What to do
1. If not doing on a BBQ Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a roasting pan with baking paper.
2. Rub maple syrup over wings, then coast wings in Smokey Joe’s Smoke chicken rub
3. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer in the lined pan. Bake for 40-45 mins or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
